    Political thread: Bush's comment...

    It might be yesterdays news, but I think it's still worth posting in case someone missed it. Bush has allegedly suggested to Blair he'd like to bomb the al-Jazeera news station in Qatar. It's a friggin news station, not a military base and to make it even worse Qatar is a US ally!

    ok, seriously, even Bush wouldnt bomb a tv-station, so i probably wouldnt believe "a source"

    We don't know that. But we know that he wouldn't admit it. Al-Jazeera has been targeted before, according to them it was by the United States.

    What makes you say he wouldn't suggest doing it ? I could see how it may have been in jest - bad taste, but possible. Without the transcript we'll never know for sure.

    well yeah in jest, "hell we should bomb al-jazeera!" but in a memo, no. i honestly dont think Bush would have some sort of memo saying he wants to bomb al jazeer

    I TOTALLY think Bush would bomb a media station, its EVERY Republicans excuse for why hes not looking soo good right now. **** Bush and his bullshit crusade. I had planned from DAY ONE to join the Army but since we got this inbred, Texas, dumbass in the White House i wont, i REFUSE to fight someone elses oil war, hes got enough money so why doesnt he hire the A-Team to do it for his lazy ass...

    Well in my opinion, no, not in a case like this. What about if a well known serial arsonist would say as a "jest" that he'll target your home next? Sleep well at night? He is still human indeed, but he is also in a position where EVERYTHING he says will get noted. Even if he wasn't 100% serious, that's easily "lost in translation" on the way to anti-American terrorist recruiters for instance.
