^^^ better chance if you can mobilise German speakers and residents to complain/push for the right solution. Not sure how much they'll listen to us

That's what Save The Ring is doing, all we can hope for is the lobbying effort is successful and facility managment changed.
It's hard to imagine the current arrangement sitting well with most Germans.

^^ Turns out they've "found" another 33 million loan was "under the table" om the whole deal.

Makes British and American bankers look professional

I woudl like to see the crooks to be challenged in court and imprisoned on fraud.

Comparing these weasels as only slightly more venal than American bankers is faint praise, Matra. Thirty-three million is walkin' around money by Wall Street standards. More light shined into the financial cracks should flush what cockroaches remain hidden... surely outraged taxpayers will reward "Ring supporters with at least a perp-walk to two.

Not sure about your side of the pond, but over here they're back paying massive bonuses to the investment banker leadership
No social conscience AT ALL that they only have a COMPANY, never mind a JOB because every other person in Britain bailed them out and will be paying extra taxes for the next 5 years AT LEAST

    Back to the topic ....

Letter from a US author pretty much sums up and hopefully they listen to and learn from HISTORY.

Save The Ring - Personal Letter to European Commissioner Joaquin Almunia.

adn I LOVE the logo created ---- but I'm computer geek, so know who else will get/like it

Thanks for that, Peter. The package requirements of Lindner & Richter make clear what the real issues are for locals.

Commerce Minister Hering is obviously a tool: "Some may be annoyed if someone has exclusive rights that have to be shared now, but the whole region will profit and that has always been the goal." What's the election cycle there and when can they vote that cretin out?

It's hard to believe the state was willing to throw the local industry pool under the bus. Clearly, motorsport drives the local economy, not amusment parks. And if the motorsport revenues are lost, how can it possibly benefit the whole region?

Repeat: Get on over and sign up to the petitions and letters !!!!

The Idea of the Automotive GmbH (private CEO’s Lindner/ Richter) is to offer cameras- as a souvenir you can take your own race video home. Sounds like fun and a great business! But following we are going to have definitely more accidents. That was the reason why it wasn’t allowed to take cameras around the track…The insurance companies will be even more under pressure than the last years and probably not disposed to insure the cars on the Ring in the future. Finally tourist rides are dead!
Trying to make some fast bucks that ultimately will mean less coming and less using which means it will have to close. These guys clearly failed basic economics. I thought London had captured all the financial corporate stupidty on one place - clearly not

The people will so lynch them. The Nürburgring is a cult in Germany. If you restrict the acess or the possibilities of recording, you will get a reaction that you won't appreciate.

    Stupid asshats.

^^ I'd have thought that but if you view the TV coverage there are politicians who think this is a good thing

These guys are financial geniuses! - in a very selfish manor.

They know that their time soon will be up, so therefor they are squeezing every little penny out of it, and just before everything cracks, they are gone, with a huge pay check.

This happens unfortunately all the time, and is portrayed very well in the first Wall Street movie.

Yep, but I don't think it will improve their reputation to do so. Politicians who tend to ignore the will of the people generally don't stay in power that long.

Assholes. Just greedy assholes. This reminds me so much of Lotus: the non-car guys just ruin everything for the enthusiasts.
