    Nosy Norwegians....

Nosy Norwegians rejoice as tax records revealed

What do you guys think about this?

Personally I don't like the ways it gets used by the tabloids.
And therefore I mean that it should not be public like this.
And it often gives a very wrong picture of how a persons economy is.

You all make too much money!
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

That could only be done in Scandinavia and not end with some riots in the streets...

Well, it costs to live here to.
You make 1 euro an hour, I make 100, a beer costs 1 euro in NL here it costs 100. The beer index is very accurate.

Yeah, and the fact that it starte in the 1890's, to show people that the democracy worked. The farmer could check if the fisherman didn't make to much money etc. That value of it is pretty washed away now, since these list only show your taxable income, not your real income. If you have large mortgages, you will get a tax reduction, and therefore less taxable income.

Paid taxes are public in Finland as well, have been so long enough for people to get used to it. Personally, I don't think anything good has come of it, finns can be good at getting envious of their more money making neighbors...

Then again, I suppose the kind of people who might start riots (here at least), are often also the kind of people who aren't against revenues made public.

That'd be real fun to do here or in Italy, since what you earn and what you declare isn't always the same....

    it is NEVER that way...
And for those into legality, the way the government calculates how much you should earn (from your own activity that is) makes you a thief even if you declare exactly what you earned.
