I'm guessing it has a bit of understear
I dont if I'll make home tonight
But I know I can swim
under the Tahitian moon
Do all the wheels turn or just four of them?
anyway what was the point of mounting four axles? better distribution of torque or what?
12 cylinders or walk!
I would like to know the year of manufacturing of this cars
I found one of the above pics named Overland Octoauto...
From the information I could gather, this started out life as a 1910 or 1911 Overland touring car that Milton O. Reeves modified with extra axles and tires to prolong tire life. The axles were suspended in a walking beam arrangement to provide the smooth ride and supposed extra tire life. The two sets of front wheels steered as did the rears, but the rear wheels turned opposite the fronts so the behemoth could negotiate corners. I believe that he started out with a Model 40 or 52 Overland, but can't be sure because neither body looks the same as the one on the Reeves car. This was the only one built and it made it's debut at the 1911 Indianapolis 500 Race. Later he removed one set of front axles, used a Stutz car, and marketed it as the "SextoAuto". Not any takers there either.
