Indeed I wasn't arguing with you, just ranting about the general opinion.

btw, the last Esprit to weight less than a ton was actually only the first 1975 Esprit, with 900 kg. Apart from the 1981 Esprit S3, with 1.060 kg, all the other versions weight at least 1.100 kg.

Impressive... I guess that the next Esprit, however it may be called, will be heavier than the Evora. Ferrari had the same criticisms for the F430 being a heavy car.

The market demands a bit of luxury. You can't get away with Elise like creature comforts...

I like the evora a lot. its gorgeous, it seems to handle nicely and from what i hear it drives like a dream. I really like it a lot. my biggest problem is that I would never take it to a race track (maybe a drag strip but probably not) which means i would use it as a fun commuter car and for random frolics on fun to drive empty roads. I am also known as your "average car guy" i like cars more than a normal person, im not bad with a wrench, but i rarely dedicate entire weeks to go to car events.

why would i spend close to 75,000$ for a car that goes 0-60 in about 5 seconds? the NSX had the same problem. it was an amazing car but who wants to spend 80,000+ to get beat down by the zit faced punk in the mustang right next to you?

I would love an evora but if i had the money, how could i convince my wife to let me spend the 75,000$ on an evora when i can get a used exige s240 for much less that is quite a bit faster? or a used esprit s4 or s4s? or a brand new camaro? or a brand new z06? or a brand new cayman s?
