    E55 AMG vs CLS55 AMG

E55 AMG: 469 hp, top speed 250 km/h, very quick German rocket CLS55 AMG: 469hp, top speed 250km/h, another fast German rocket but in "coupe sedan" configuration. I'd go with the CLS, who cares about the price? What's your choice?

Id have to agree, the CLS is more appealing. That raises the issue, surely this is the biggest encroachment on a main sector by a 'specialist' vehicle. Why would people buy the E when the CLS is on offer? Surely they carry the exact same specs...

The CLS, because it looks better, however the E55 has to be one of the ultimate Q-cars currently.

The CLS is about £20,000 more expensive- that's a lot. Also, some people prefer the "sleeper" nature of the E-Class.

I myself prefer the CLS- it's apparently a sportier drive, and it looks sublime. Wow.

I'd probably go for the CLS. Its an improved E-Class so it would be a better drive and its brakes seem amazing, on the Top Gear review the full on brake test JC did looked painful

Ever sat in the back of a CLS ? It feels claustrophobic. The CLS looks indeed wicked cool and I would buy the CLS if I had the choice but a CLS is no good if you regularly drive with people in the back. That's were the E55 comes in.
And as pointed out it's much more expensive.

CLS. It looks better inside and out. It's meant to be a LOT better to drive. and its one of my fave cars. i aint seen whats happened to E-class in transformation from E55 to E63. but i love that too. The CLS ONLY JUST pips the E

I think it could depend on WHO you're transporting- I've sat in the back of a CLS350, and it felt fine for me. My parents have the 2001 Hond Civic (Euro), which is huge inside, and it didn't feel that bad.

Also, the materials used for the CLS are of a higher quality than the E Class.

If you're transporting people up to 1m 80 medium distances, then it's fine. I personally love the fact that you are nice and cosy- it feels... comforting.

In looks the cls is better, and it feels so much moore luxurious but i can be a problem with it because it has so small windows, you can see the sidewalk when you are parking. But the E55 is better if you are treveling with friends and are going to pack alot. The CLS is newer so it is a little more upgraded

I think the small windows add to the ambience of the car overall. Think back to the Jaguar XJ12, with it's high waistline, and you begin to understand the appeal.

However, I do appreciate that the E55 is more of a practical car- particularly as an estate
