something doesn't look right about MP's pic looks like the contrast has been boosted up a lot (or maybe it is the jpeg compression) the arears it appears a little funny are where the birds are and above them in the clouds and also on the water...

CJ gets my vote for something different

JPEG Compression, it's been pissing me off because I used photoshop to resize it, and saved it at 10 quality, and it's still there and I dont know why! The only contrast boost was in camera, by the way.

Maybe pointing his camera at the sun will wreck it more quickly
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

Sunsets the light is much more diffused so it doesnt hurt the camera (so I've read, true or not) but hey, if it gets wrecked... SLR

Mine is too noisy, too slow, doesn't focus well in low light (that shot wasn't all that low light, I just stopped it down) mine only goes to f/8.0 and only 36mm wide. Takes several seconds to start up, several more to focus, burst mode is 0.9 fps, etc...
