Like clockwork, another new Lamborghini Gallardo special edition has been revealed a little early thanks to the almighty Internet.
Dubbed the LP 570-4 Spyder Performante, the supercar is essentially a Superleggera drop top. It features a new front fascia, aggressive side skirts, a fully-covered underbody, a redesigned rear diffuser and 19-inch lightweight wheels with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.
Inside, the Performante has Alcantara sport seats and carbon fiber trim. While that doesn't sound like much, it is worth noting that Lamborghini decided to keep "luxury" items such as air conditioning and power windows - things that are normally sacrificed to save weight.
Speaking of which, the Spyder has been put on a strict diet of carbon fiber and aluminum. Thanks to this, the car tips the scales at 1,485 kilograms (3,274 lbs) which is 65 kilograms (143 lbs) less than the standard LP 560-4 Spyder.
Under the hood, power is provided by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 419 kW (570 PS / 562 hp) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. Backed up by a standard e-gear transmission (a six-speed manual is a no cost option), the roadster rockets from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and tops out at 324 km/h (201 mph).
