Looks menacing.
Looks menacing.
Cripes! If that thing's as fast as it looks the 998 (when it arrives) will have its work cut out!!
That new front end is rather ugly. If it works, bring it!

I think that is possibly the sexiest GT2 car in existence.

Not as sleek as the road car, but I like it. A worthy successor to the F430 GT2 indeed?
Not to go off topic, but why do GT2 cars often have yellow-tinted lenses for the headlights (as is the case with this 458)?
Buy a car for you, not for other people
GT2 cars have yellow tinted headlights due to the regulations.
I would assume this is because they make it easier for other cars to determine what is behind them.
I am more a fan of the Porch RSR.
I don't think thats the most flattering pic...something looks funny about it. But I am sure it'll be much nicer looking without the tape and with a full war paint on...

Some technical details have emerged today:
Power with ACO mandated restrictors is around 470hp. That's 100 less than the 458 Italia street car and 30 less than the 4 liter engined F430 GT2.
6 speed paddle shifter.
18" wheels (vs 19 on the Challenge).
Weight is, again ACO mandated minimum, 1245 kg / 2745 lbs, up 27 kg / 60 lbs from the 430.
In 2010 they used 7 speed dual clutch....now going to 6 speed Hewland sequential.
sexyyyyyy and yes the lights are tinted yellow to tell the drivers ahead it's a GT car and not an LMP
You sure the 2010 F430 had dual clutch? I thought they have stick shift sequential in those cars...
