So Pocahontas is a bad story

The important thing, the message, is still important and worth realizing. Im not upset that they choose a great way albiet very similar to deliever it.

I get frustrated by repetition, and thats kind of the point - Pochahontas wasn't a bad story, but I don't think it beared repeating

I was impressed by the amazing graphics - it's beautiful stuff - but you don't watch it for the storyline.

So any story that has the same events you deem repetition. So Armageddon and Deep Impact you got frustrated with. Did Tomestone and Wyatt Earp frustrate you. Does every vampire movie that basis its roots in some form or another in Dracula or Vlad' the Impaler frustrate you? Hundreds of movies are based off of previous ideas or creations, and that will continue. I can only think of one other movie that has similarities to Pochahontas and that is Fern Gully, which also came out in the mid 90's (15 years ago). I dont think that every movie that basis its plot around the idea that Nature has a physical or mental power should be thought of as a clone. Thats my $0.02

But it is a clone. It is an outright rip off with a 3-D visual over the top.

And yes, repetition frustrated me. Deep Impact and Armageddon were not good movies to bring up because they leech into the disaster porn flick where major landmarks are taken out by hellish events for our viewing pleasure. I've seen it before.

There are new ways to tell the same story, and its going to take a little more than tinsel and Blue body paint for me to see past a poor script.

No matter how amazing that visual tinsel is. My 0.02c.

repitition and homage on old movies/storylines is one thing.

    It's the whole rip-off that's bad imho.
The tech deserved a better screenplay.

Brilliant comment during interview with Dominic Monaghan re FlashForward about how come every time they warp forward does it show some landmark in flames or being destroyed. "It's never someones garage"

Any sequel is likely to have a better (and more original) storyline. Cameron would have played it safe with this one to get the funding to make it and develop the tech. Now that's made bank, he'll have free-reign to do what he wants for a sequel.

But oil is evil and anyone involved in raping the earth to get it should be murdered by the Blue Man Group.

My latest, got my bumpers powder coated (they were originally chrome, but I had them painted two years ago, and paint apparently doesn't like road debris or age). Lame purchase? Sure.

How much did that cost? I was thinking of getting the ones on my jeep redone and was curious if it was worth it.
