Yeah, I notice that traffic is down too, but there is a large group of senior members and new members that contribute serious discussion.

I mean, aren't we here just to talk about cars, share pictures and all that?

There's nothing wrong with that at all.

As with any other forum i visit i always post on the side of quality over quantity, just because some of UCP's forum sections are seeing less posting than previously if those few new posts are of quality then i don't see it as the place is dying more that it has matured into a more learned environment.
I'll take UCP over any of the multitude of automobile blogs that are out there anyday as when there is discussion it's worthwhile reading / contributing to.

I wouldn't know if it's dying or not but it's still good enuff for me to check back every day and see what the new post topics are and if i have somethin to say i say it. The reason i don't post so much is prolly either b/c someone already said what i was gonna say (u guys r fast to post lol) or i just don't have an opinion on the topic (i can ID aloooot of cars but can't tell u what it's gear ratios r or what size turbo to put in ur Civic). I like readin everyone's opinions on the new cars that come out and also about old rare cars that someone managed to get pics of. If this forum dies i'll be very disappointed and sad to see it go

I stopped posting and checking in as often because it's become a bit.. well, boring.
I think it has to do 100% with the amount of control, a bit of anarchy is always good.

The second someone would post something funny, something to bash someone else, or even a 1/4 mile race or street race video everybody would flame the hell out of that person. There are some other forums which are HUGE in activity, mainly because everything goes. If you dislike a certain thread you simply stay away from it, if it offends you then you report it to a Moderator and they take care of it. No porn, no spamming, no advertising, and that should pretty much do it.

I was one that acted against stupid posts and what not, but I do miss having a bit of a mess going on and a more active forum.

I prefer to read threads in which all (well at least almost all) posts are worth reading. I am happy to see that the people I once put on my ignore list, hardly post anymore.

I've been busy with college, just beleaguered with work really. I'll try to get around here more often over summer.

Actually, i enjoy it very much to view this forum day after day. It differs from other forums because of the huge amount of knowledge you get. Apart from that, i never saw any rude comments (like those on autoblog or other forums). And you have a very familiar atmosphere
There will always be people that enjóy this page. I think it's a bit hard to say it's dying...although i have to admit that i don't know if it was better here some time ago.

    well if we're quoting appropriate Twain-isms ....
