I don't think everybody is a member of the Aston Martin forum, so we cannot see the pictures.

Didn't the XJR15 have deadly handling?

Now that's nice, and much rarer than most club racers. I'd definitely buy one regardless of handling stories and give it a good ol' thrash.

I am pretty sure you just need to register. I don't think there is any sort of membership fee.

It did have a reputation for tricky handling. Problem was that it was set up too high off the ground so the aero package was not able to creat enough downforce. Drop the suspension, fit a larger front lip spoiler and raise the rear wing and you should be fine.

As Tiff Needell said to me:-

"The XJR15 was the only car I raced that understeered on the straight".

    'nuff said.

The XJR 15 is just underdeveloped.

Isn't going straight exactly what you want on a straight?
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

i was just thinking, is he implying that it's somehow worse than...over steering on a straight??

Wondering what Needell was doing in those moments...
you are understeering, on a straight...the question is, why were you steering in first place?!

TWR should be able to provide the answer as to where they sourced the 'box from, or the likes of Quaife would be able to custom make a new set of internals.

i would guess, giving Tiff's penchant for hyperbole, that he was just trying to relate just how much of a dog it was to drive, not implying that it it did indeed understeer on a straight.

Also remembered that Mike Roddy's shop did some work on Lindsey Fox's car last year.

They may be able to provide some more info for you.
