2012 Proposed Rome Grand Prix circuit

These street circuit plans keep emerging every year. London, Rome you name it...

Anyway, this might prove interesting to some so here is the link with some google streetview pics to see the "track"..

The hairpin at the monument looks pretty good, everything else about that circuit is garbage as far as I'm concerned.

If you're going to invent such circuits you might as well bring back Montjuďc.

    Probably.

You just want something close to home.

That is truly terrible, not that I've liked F1's other recent editions.
There are plenty of tracks out there, good tracks, yet because they refuse to line Bernie's pockets we get stuck with shit like this and Valencia.

Can't complain with the nice long curve, but the whole circuit looks really quite short.

If the organisers cared about racing, they'd create a track from country roads that slice through farmland and sleepy villages, with cracked sufaces and long, flowing corners that lead onto monumental straights that rise and fall with the natural hills, hairpins up steep inclines, cambers that lean over grassy cliffs and maybe just one short section of track that goes through the city streets, just for the pits' sake. Imo, of course.

    Why is it so terrible?

I quite like city circuits, this might even turn out to be a great circuit.

It seems somebody's had too much Gran Turismo.

Too bad they couldn't use that circuit. Now that would be awesome.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

I remember that from Gran Turismo 3.

They dropped it in 4 though.

Yeah, what's wrong with the Rome track that they're proposing? Maybe too harsh road conditions?

It's too dull. Too boring. Too sSHORT!. And the new rules that are due next year these curcuits dont' make any sense. But you're talking like there's going to be a F1 championship next year.
