Racing in LeMons

So after all this talk for so many years, I am finally going to shut up and race.

after getting permission from the boss (you married guys understand) i sent out a few emails looking for an open seat in any of the several upcoming LeMons/Chumpcar races. one of the teams got back to me today, and i am pretty well signed up to run on 8-9 May at Buttonwillow Motorsports Park in Northern CA. the team is running 2 cars, so i will be driving in either a well used CRX, or a new to the circuit Civic. As you may expect, i am absolutely thrilled. I will provide pics and report after the race. assuming i come down from the adrenaline high.

for those of you who dont know about LeMons, it is an endurance racing series where the value of the car can not exceed $500. because it is run by the guys from Jalopnik, often there are themes, and shenanigans aplenty.

Entry fees are pretty expensive, any reason why

it's a race. and entry fees are expensive. and these are peanuts compared to a lot of series.

Hmm o ok. In our racing Organization in Canada, which is ASN or CASC is both affiliated with the FIA, and if we pay early its 225 per race including driver if late its 350

Great stuff, I'd love to do something like that. There needs to be a LeMons race or six down here. Got some UCP stickers you can slap on the car while they're not looking?

It seems like a good way to get some racing and endurance experience, but i personally got a foul taste in my mouth when I read this part about cars being ceremoniously destroyed. It is the kind of "fun" that does not appeal to me at all. Hope it will not happen to your mount.

Props CMC, any form of racing (apart from Monster Trucks, and a proper destruction derby which is not racing) is a good thing, plus this provides plenty of fun as well.
