    Formula 1 changes

What are your thoughts on changes F1 should make to make it better??

I say no Driver aids, 2 pitstops max per race, tyre change, 4.0 L V12 1000+ BHP

If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

    Wot? Only 1,000 hp?
I want 10,000 hp. That will teach the drag fans sth about straight line speed...

Free pit actions. Do ANYTHING you want in the pit except for replace driver.
Including refuelling, tyre changes, aero changes, replace parts - as long as legal.

agree, except for the refuelling. I feel that scheduled pit stops are not the way to run a race. Tyres should also last for the whole race in principle...

Wouter what's wrong with a 1000 BHP it's been done before, beter than 2.4 V8 revving 18 000 revs and 800 hp, and yes I agree with Matra on the Pitstop stuff it would be fun. But I think tactics should be removed as much as possible winning races on pitstops is not glamorous

    Why is it better?

I think what he meant was that with a 4 litre V12 you'd be getting a LOT more than 1000bhp with today's technologies. Rumours are they are almost at 1000bhp with 3l V10s, so you'd probably be talking over 1250bhp with a 4l V12. Trying to use that power with no traction control would be, erm, 'interesting' shall we say! When you say they've done it before, that was only in qualifying trim and they were absolutely insane machines. In race trim they had nothing like the same kind of power.

Actually that's not what I meant, but you are right. It's the obsession with horsepower that made me giggle a bit there. Some people still really think that horsepower is the most important factor in a F1 car's lap times.

O ok LOL but what if you make the engines Rev lower around 1100 HP and with todays technology maybe they could make it more reliable and produce those great beasts from the past with all the advantages of today, It would be a true spectacle wheel spin all over the place huge smoke , and it would show whose truely the more skilled driver who can handle this kind of power

It'd be group B all over again.

Only with more spectator deaths this time.

Fast lap times come with no wheelspin, regardless of the power. So whatever you want, wheelspin and smoke it won't result in.

I don't care I want a spectacle something the crowds would like and is worth watching not robotic-like cars who could drive themself if the teams wanted I'm just saying that F1 should be a true competion between drivers to show who's the most skilled
