What? The damn thing doesn’t even make it’s peak torque figure until 4,800RPM! That’s low for a 7.0???

Because superchargers restrict breathing, that’s what they do… For example, look how restricted the CCX is, it’s a 4.7 that produces 806bhp. It could certainly do better NA…

Have you had a stroke recently???

Strangely, it’s not at all as you say… Look, I don’t actually like referring people to them, but if you need a visual confirmation of how fast this car is, go on Youtube and watch the Top Gear segment on the Z06; it’s an eye opener.

    WTF are you talking about???
    Heres the link:

Click the dyno sheet link. If you think that superchargers will make the power band more narrow you clearly don't know anything about them.

and it is close geared too, thats why corvetteres top out at about 150
This guy has to be joking, there is no way someone is this dumb.

    oh my god...
The only thing Im going to comment on is the supercharger statement. Adding a supercharger will give a WIDER powerband if anything.

    It does 186 with 5 gears and 400hp, 198 with 5 gears and 500hp.

You know, it isn’t often that Slicks, Canuck, 2ndclass, and I all see eye to eye on… well, anything (seriously, if Slicks says the sky is blue, I look up just to check. ). Thanks kiango123; your dumbass, ignorant, incomprehensible, vitriolic ranting has injected a little togetherness into our forum.

I agree with slicks also WTF, Kango definetley got it wrong there, the beauty about big capacity V8's and FI is plenty of torque, although the LSx do have a habit of splitting bores if you get boost hungry( Cast block FTW, stuff the weight).

    Slicks originally posted

Narrow gears? You do realize that the Corvette (and most other t56 equipped cars) top out in 5th gear right? A stock C6 Z06 can take 1st gear to 60mph, how is that a close ratio???

Slicks why are you assuming that a close ratio g/box wont have a high first gear, think your mixing up short geared with close geared.

Close ratio boxes usually have a high first and closer 2-3-4-5, 5th is usually a
1:1, they are designed to keep small capacity engines in the fat part of the toruqe-power curve

Nah mate, its just a standard Australian delivered KE25 Corolla, it may be getting some Levin flares once I find some more HP though . It only runs a 4age20v 1600cc at the moment and we all know 4 cylinder = grocery getter or so Ive been told

The TE27 Levins are getting quite popular with restorers now

I've looked all over for an SR-5 -The US equivilent of the Levin, or Corolla Sport, or whatever it was in so many markets... they're expensive as hell for what they are, if ou can find one. And one importer over here wanted something like $15,000 for a true Levin; that's when I stopped looking for one. Great car though! And a 20V? That's what I have planned for an the MR2 I'm now looking for. Good taste! And yeah, you can get groceries in one, but then, I'm pretty sure the 'Vette has a big enough trunk-space for a weeks shopping.
