This project has been going on for the past 2 years. I'm surprised you guys haven't heard about it yet.

Sheikh Muhammed will do anything he wants. He is one guy not to be messed with.
He went to Military school in Europe all his school years, so you can imagine the rest...

This is a feat of engineering, done by a rich man.

    Whats the Problem?

Give it 20 years when global warming/polar ice-cap melting kicks in, the whole thing will end up underwater anyway!

    SHEESH guys...think optimisticly

I just said that to show his might. And that if he think anything is a good idea for the country, he will do it. Thats all

Friends back from bahrain say it is amazing and most of it is sold already

If it needs raising then I suspenct they'll just raise it !!
Builidng it in the first place is a pretty good engineering feat

Actually do we know how high the "islands" sit above sea level ? They might have factored in the next 50 years worth of global warming I'll ask Dennis.....

    ....
which Bahrain, the real country or the artificial island in "The World" ?!!
anyways, with its extremely small size i doubt that Bahrain will even exist in "The World" !! or they can make it as a sort of exclusive island that will hold one house.

anyways, as u mentioned earlier i am sure for a project of such magnitude, they have extensively studied the effects of global warming and other environmental aspects for many years to come.
but i believe that the recent tragic events caused by the tsunami show how limited are abilities can be.

ha-ha, didnt' think, they were visiting the REAL one.
They had a meeting about the "articifial" world and the avialbaility of land investments.
The Beckhams have bought a chunk it seem

Well we learn leassons all the time.
it took the Tay Bridge disaster to lead to the Forth Rail Brideg.
The Tacoma Straits bridge failure led to successful bridges the world over.
Welll learn the lesson fromt the tsuanami and HOPEFULLY applly it to the good of the majority. BUT not an issue here as the med isn't deep enough or active enough to create one. Gradual increase is as was said a bigger issue. I think I'd be a little pissed to invest millions to find that in 20 yeas it's belowe the woater level !!!!
