    keeping model cars safe

i plan on painting my room during the break an i have a question for those of you with alot of 1:18 scale model cars; what is the best way to temporarily store alot of them? and what should i do with the ones that have extensive and fragile parts? (convertibles, antennas and racecars like my R8) thanks

Get brown packing paper, the one that's cut in 2-feet squares. Place the car in the center and bring up the paper like a holiday basket and then flatten the top. Place these in a large box (20"x20"), the paper on top will even protect many layers of cars. This is how I transported mine when I didn't want to spend the time to pack them into original boxes.

EDIT: put the delicate ones on top, duh!

Find a spare room in the house, put them in there and keep everyone OUT !!

woah, exactly the same as me
For that many I recommend Matra's suggestion. Put them in a spare room if you have one.

If not, get some cardboard boxes, put them in and seperate them with some foam.

No, I would just think you'd fold them up and put them in a closet or the basement.
