They have the 1750 for that.

The MITO looks like a Pokemon.

I'm sorry, but I'd prefer something a little more honest & powerful for the price it sells for here in Australia.

I couldn't find the price on their site but found an estimation from last year for 30 grand. That's 28,000 Canadian dollars. That's a ripoff.

I believe hellcat was saying it'd be affordable if sold here? Hah.

The old 155bhp top of the range model cost 19.000€. It undercuts the Mini Cooper by some hundreds of dollars (and that has a normally aspirated 120bhp engine).

In Canada the Mini costs $22,800 so the 155bhp would cost about the same, probably a bit less, with much better performance. And AFAIK the 170bhp Quadrifoglio Verde won't be that much expensive than the previous 155bhp MiTo.

Are you sure Alfa could afford to sell it for less than 23k? Why does it cost so much in Australia for the base model?

    A Base MITO costs $31,490 Australian ($29,341 CAD)(18,400 Euro)

A Base MINI cost $31,100 AUD ($29,016 CAD) (18,303 Euro)

Bear in mind you can pick up a Golf for that kind of money, no worries.

Currency conversions don't tell the whole story about the cost of products.

Bearing in mind the relatively strong Aussie Dollar and the cost of importation (being stuck on a ship, blah blah blah) it's still a ridiculous amount of money to pay for an underpowered 3 door hatchback, no matter the badge cache.

That's not the problem in my opinion. The problem is that in essence the MiTo is a posh Punto. And that's fine at Punto prices, but no so fine when you heading into premium territory. And it's why despite all the mistakes and overall cuteness and retroness the Mini still makes sense.

The problem I suppose is that there are too many fools willing to part with their cash for it.

I can think of 3 vehicles I'd consider before a MITO if I was in the same price range.

2010 Alfa Romeo MiTo QV - Images, Specifications and Information

I am just too impressed and enchanted by the sweetness of this little car. So much muscle from so little a car. I want one of these.

US auto companies need to hide their face in shame. All the 1.8 and 1.6 litre cars I know in the US, can't touch this little gem.

How is a rebadged Punto innovative?
