I wonder how they got the extra power....seeing how a pretty simple chip job nets your ~50+ bhp/80+ ft-lb with the TSI motor....
New wheels are cool looking, and the car has some subtle bodywork changes and the unique trim pieces inside. But its a pretty significant price jump over the stock GTI....when a chip job cost ~$700....
I should try to track down the golf-ball knob for the DSG shifter...

They might, they did bring some other special edition over before, though its not quite 35th anniversary for GTI yet in US.
Golf R is in the mid-high 30s I think...the AWD and more power means its a much quicker car....if they are as fast as the MKIV and MKV R32 that is...
