    Growler Jaguar E-type recreation revealed

Swedish car design firm Vizualtech has confirmed it will build a very limited run of its Growler, inspired by the legendary Jaguar E-type. Its current plans are that only a few of these super rare ‘cat copies’ will be produced.

Jaguar’s supercharged 5.0-litre V8 already boasts a substantial 503bhp, but Vizualtech promises some choice tweaks that are said to provide 600bhp and a sub-4sec 0-60mph time.

This V8-powered recreation will simply be named ‘Growler’, which suggests American muscle despite the car being British-powered and Swedish-designed.

It could, however, break the bank: a 700,000 US Dollar estimate (nearly £450,000) is surely not a befitting memory to the heroic E-type that cost £2256 back in 1961. That price today converts to around £38,000. A Porsche Boxster rather than a Carrera GT, in other words…

The huge price estimate could rise if the number of cars produced stays in single figures, but all this pales into insignificance when you consider what the Growler is truly trying to replicate. The Jaguar E-type is surely a contender for one of the greatest sports cars of all time. With a stratospheric price tag and questionable looks (and that name), the Growler will surely remain in the vast shadow of its inspiration.

I love the look of this car, i think they have done the Jaguar E-type justice. Sorry about pictures coun't find any better ones.

Go with two headlights instead of four and lose the wires which never look good in that large diameter.....and it might look okay.

wow that care is freaking beautiful.

Not worth the price unfortunately, but perhaps it will inspire other companies to use this styling for sportscars. "growler" though? Wat

Oh also I don't think the old style mirrors go with it. The body is timeless and translates well into a nearly futuristic mysterious curved design, but not the mirrors, they hold it back. Those mirrors worked well with the older aesthetic with the chrome parts that sort of stuck out and interrupted the flowing lines for visual repetition, but not with this body.

I saw this online the other day and thought it was awesome. A modern interpretation of one of the best looking cars of all time? Yes, please!

I chopped out the center lights.(admitting I suck at chopping)

To me it's easier to look at...and I don't mind the cantilever roof.

^^^Much better. Still would swear that's a Chevy logo... and Growler sounds stupid, even if it WAS a Chevy. At $700K.

Plus, cantilever roof = fail when overturned.

The headlights I can forgive, those idiotic rims drive me batshit crazy.

WOW love it! Even better with the inside lights chopped out and idk what it is but i judge based on the body. I never even look at the mirrors until one of you mentions something about them, even so i like them.

i love the E type shape

it has so many fans that your going to upset some badly by doing a modern version

& true to form this car loses some of the curve is order to appese aerodynamics

the twin headlights dont spoil it for me

    .

(the only thing i would do to the original E type is lose an inch - or 2 - from between the front axel & the windshield leading edge, the original has such a long nose)

It would upset many if a modern version was done badly, for sure.

Yes! Kind of hard to improve perfection. And there's that $700,000 obstacle.
