    Detroit GP photos...

Went yesterday with free tix from Pratt & Miller. Checked out the Indy Car qualifying, Pirelli World Challenge GT/GTS race, and Grand Am's Chevy 200 race.

    Nice pics!

I was a bit disappointed they didn't use the old Belle Isle layout.

Whats the difference? I've been to this race twice now(08 and this year) and I never really paid that much attention since its more of a "its a free race so I'll go and use my camera"....

Great pics! Surprised to see Volvo silhouette among them, by the way. Is it from Belgian championship? I guess BTCS has folded, or am I mistaken?

K-PAX has run Volvos for a few years now. I think maybe they make them too?

Indeed, K-PAX runs them, according to Google (and K-PAX website). I was almost sure that was a Solution-F 'Volvo' silhouette, but seems it's not - they look different.

They are AWD I think... At least they were. I have never seen these cars, but I intend to catch them at Mosport this year.

My bad, it wasn't as I remembered it. I watched a 1994 Youtube of that race and it is the same, I was thinking there was an elongated straight in part of the course. Ironically in a lot of the old Youtubes of the race there is either a threat of rain or it is raining. 1994 pole time speed was 115.6mph, 2012 I think it was 104mph.
