You'd get a vette if you were interested in doing anything other than burnouts, the occasional drift and cruising

ah good point Ferrer..... the "smart" part of Europe did tho'

Us Brits and our real passion for fun cars !!!

( However, as a computer geek I do have to point out that my logic was correct. "Europeans know nothing" is negated by the evidence of ONE European nation knowing it and Britain (we) are a European nation -- for a while anyway )

Drove an A4 B7 2.0 TDi Multitronic last friday.

I have to say I was moderately surprised. The steering was much better than what I remembered from the A6, weighty and quite accurate but still a bit dead. The ride wasn't very comfortable though, and this didn't have particularly big wheels or sports suspension. Something I didn't like was the CVT gearbox which always kept the engine too low in the rev band and as result killed it, then you had to floor it to make progress wait, until the gearbox noticed, drop the tranmision ration... and after all of this go! Not much go though, since it was only the 140bhp version and it wasn't particularly fast. Altough at speed it felt fine. And it could maintain high speeds easily. It was also suprsingly quiet.

So, all in all, much better than what I remembered from Audi, but it still doesn't cut the mustard.

    Nissan Qashqai 2.0 dCi.

Felt a lot like the Delta, only without the charm. Engine pretty much non-descript, altough relatively smooth and powerful. And the same could be said about pretty much everything else. Quite abysmal body roll. Reasonably comfy. Didn't quite like the high driving position.

I guess it's ok to go from A to B, and that's pretty much it.

Well, I work for GM, with a lot of the new model year vehicles. I was standing in the garage the other day when one of the ZR1's rolled in, and had to be taken somewhere... I, of course, was happy to take it.

Basically I see these every day, rows and rows of CTS-V's and ZR1's, Z06's, and Grand Sports are just lined up outside. Unlocked. With keys inside
I can talk about those, and general things about what I do.

I also see some of the things in the development phase, that I absolutely can't talk about... which sucks because they're really cool.

Not so much when people are always saying "here have the keys to my cts/srx/traverse/camaro/corvette"

But only going to be here for two more weeks... after that I'm gonna have to buy a corvette of my own.

that sucks, are you a victim of the slimming down of the company, or were you on a temporary contract anyway?

Just a summer internship. The cuts hit the department I'm now in pretty hard, now hiring is starting to ramp up again. Actually a friend of mine just got hired permanently into exactly what I've been doing all summer.

But I'm glad to be heading back to school in a few weeks.
