After being linked to a Williams drive, the 2007 World Champion will switch back from rallying to Formula 1 with the Lotus Renault team. That most likely means the likes of Robert Kubica, Bruno Senna and Romain Grosjean will have to look elsewhere as Vitaly Petrov's seat seems very solid.

Renault are a quality team. the 2011 car was in the right direction at the beginning of the year & it was looking like being a solid year for them
Bruno has been hit & miss. if he had been with the team at the beginning it might have been different ? who knows
Vitaly had better show some learned experience this coming year

The car with the FEE was flawed from the beginning though, as the team designed the FEE with the Bridgestone handling characteristics in mind. They wanted to avoid understeer by moving the centre of pressure forward, but found with the Pirelli's they actually needed more of an understeer balance. The pace of the car IMO was moreso to do with the development stage the FEE was at compared to alot of rival teams EBD
