2005 Toyota Celica or 2006 Acura RSX?

What do you guys think is a better first car? Which car is better overall, in terms of visibility, comfort, performance, MPG, and safety?

RSX, in 05 they updated the front/tail lights on the base / type S version (which gave the car a better look) and added more power to the Type S engine IRRC.

They have similar performance, but the RSX is definitely a more comfortable car.

These are two cars I honestly dislike, but I'll say the RSX. They both seem feminine to me.

yeah, i would go for the rsx between those two. its a honda so you have bulletproof reliability, and a HUGE aftermarket, so there are lots of ways to make it even faster and handle better. celicas have always been a little female. even for the ricers who try and make them look more masculine, it is still packed with fail. you might try looking at a mk4 gti, or a cooper S of similar vintage. all the pluses of the others, while not having nearly the sexuality questioning aspect, and ricer image.

    Cmcpokey, your post is gold!

But... Celicas are not THAT bad, come on guys...

My buddy had an '03 GTS, bought it brand new back then and the little car was very decent. 180hp, but only 2500lbs, easily over 130mph on the highway... now I don't know about a regular GT though...

The only problem that I have with Celicas is that I hit the steering wheel when I shift, which is not a problem that I have on the RSX...
