how about the veyron?
"Overall, the Taurus is a part of automotive history because it ended the good designs coming out of America, as GM and Chrysler were throwing out shit designs hoping to match the Taurus' success, and is responsible for the shit auto designs we are seeing today."
Thanks for all the fish
The Audi R8 is the most advanced racing car ever produced

There are many. For me one is the 635csi, a guage of what aesthetic elegance can be in the mass production era.

Its better than every indistinguishable amorphous blob that followed the Taurus.
American car design is, by and large, still reeling in a mass of incoherent surfacing, pointless lines and creases and a general lack of cohesion.
Thanks for all the fish
I don't disagree but there is a method to the madness. American design is about power styling. The power bumps and lumps do give the cars an aggressive stance that's solely American. The best of this was lost when the Muscle era ended. The shaker hood and bulging fenders of the Chargers and Challengers are being revoked in the likes of the new Charger.Originally Posted by Coventrysucks
Aggressive design is such a necessity that the very proportional and rather good looking Pontiac GTO (MOnaro) is considered too tame. Many wanted more surface excitement (strakes a slats). Thankfully the design was left mostly intact other than the large plastic Pontiac grill, 'crowning' this otherwise clean design.

Ford is america pretty much at their senses.
Chrysler is focusing on muscle again- bad idea
GM is so stupid that they think that the SUV will pull them out of their junk bond status.
FOrd is building clean styled, practical automobiles.

I agree, Ford were actually starting to get back on track with the design of the new mustang, the basic shape is great but it's the details that screwed it up and it's a shame it's such a poor car. I mean, since when was a Ford Mustang comparable to a Volkswagen Golf GTI?
I do however like the look of the C6 'Vette, the shape and back end of that looks awesome. My only criticism would be that the shape of the headlamps take some of the aggressiveness out of the design.
American car design is starting to improve again but it's still some way off of european cars *coughs* TVR *coughs*

in Australia, Phase 3 GTHO, as much as pains me to say, probably australia's best ever muscle car, though I'd still rather an XU-1, and the HQ kingswood. Those two are aussie classics
