Napolean Dynamite is one of those movies where you love it or hate it, it seems to have achieved a cult status.

If you see the movie you don't need IMDB ratings. It was awefull. Worst movie of the year.

I know which category I fit in, I enjoy obscure films (A Clockwork Orange and Freddy Got Fingered are 2 of my favs), I watched it as several people had told me I "HAD" to watch it, I watched and waited for something to happen ... it never did I don't get it.

I put a smilie in there as I too thought it was one of the weirdest films ever and didn't really get the plot, Pulp fiction was my main entry to become an alltime classic

starwars (the new one) was a classic before it came out
i love the truman show i love it i love it i love it
i dont think any sports movies will become classics
i dont know if you would concider 'duel' a modern movie. it was speilbergs (sp?) first move and it is wonderfull. it was filmed in the 60's i think
i think anchorman will become a classic eventually and old school too. theres master and commander DEFINENTLY that movie was tight

That was the modern Italian Job, with Marky Mark.

I had never heard about the Brazilian Job. I had heard in the commentary on the old Italian Job that if they meant to do a sequel it would start with the mafia pulling the bus back onto safe ground and then about the crew getting the gold back from them, but I didn't think they actually made it.

EDIT-I did some research. The Brazilian Job is an announced sequel to the latest Italian Job.

    Usual Suspects
    Matrix (the first one)
    Memento
    Shrek
    Swordfish
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (maybe)
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
    Office Space
the Ring (1st) and other japanese-based scarymovies aswell.
    A few Quentin Tarantino movies
Kopps (swedish movie, check out a hilarious clip from the movie:
http://www.wimp.com/supercop/ and try to tell me you don't like it )
    etc...
those are the 1st that came to my mind...
The LOTR trilogy was good, but there wasn't really any positive surprises about it. ANYONE could make a good trilogy with that budget and based on such great classics to begin with. But with no surprises the result was rather boring.
The "new" starwars are owned by the old so they're out of question aswell.
