Is this product capable of dealing with other cars than Maseratis?

Absolutely, just a coincidence Maserati's show up so often, and there were multiple products used, as with every detail.
do you measure the thickness of the paint/clear before sanding?
Ordinarily yes I do. As I did with this particular paint. When removing paint via sanding it's not much different than polishing though, as a professional, you should know what product and pad combination remove x amount of paint. Same thing with sanding, and if there wasn't plenty enough clear on that car to go through the light sanding I did, it would show visible signs of premature and mature failure, and would need a repaint anyhow.
How much would something like this cost? I really think I need my car done, the paint looks terrible.
