For genuine yes it costs that much. they are cheaper from Chevrolet catalogs (starting at almost half price) rebuilt (are half price) or slightly used (eagle import spares) start at around 5 (base tune and they also offer the cast iron 6l version used in some gmcs)

also woth noteing the gen III is so light because it doesnt have 4 camshafts swinging over head either.....detial I neglected to point out earlier

As i said before though, the engine should be lower and further back in 2008.

Oh no, I was referring to 20kg making a big difference in an Evo cause the weight is so far forward.

Well ls1 uses a plastic manifold quite an ingenious motor but for a 15k (our cost retials higher) base replacement cost id shure hope it was.
I can grab a LS1 crate motor for $5500 for real.

If i was really intrested I could ask some supplyers (not holden) and see what i could find too bad im not

I can get a gen IV for under 10k brand new which i thought wasnt too bad.

Gen IIIs are still only $300 cheaper lol they possibly might be cheaper on dealerlink as opposed to on part finder but thats in the mangers section only of the gm holden website I dont have acsess to that part

How much extra were they flogging C4B's for? Or is that a bit out of reach being an HSV motor

They'd be expensive, thats for sure. Handbuilt motors from Callaway arent found under every bonnet. The XR8 and GT motors would be a similar price i'd imagine.

You wouldnt bother with the GenIII if you could get a GenIV for a little extra.

Everything back from that, the bits that are actually different between a Falcon, Falcon wagon, Falcon ute and Fairlane, all remain the same.
If they don't have a LWB platform wouldn't by default the wagon have to be on the short SWB platform, or is my logic flawed.

They could still use a longer wheelbase for the wagon - they just won't be developing LWB sedans.
