    3. I love both equally. The RB26DETT had a great life, but only time will tell if it will have the same tuning potential. Of course, I'd like to see someone cram the new VR into a Fairlady Z or Roadster. Maybe even a 510...
WOW...a VR 510...now that I want to see....Ive seen RB's into Datsun Z's & 350Z's and they perform well...I guess time will tell on the VR engine

720lbs (could have been more as that may have been for the RB25)
plus it's a longer engine than the V6 of course, so it juts out over the axle.

wouldn't quite call them shit though....runflats yes, but quite special runflats.....

one of the things I am most impressed about it was that they basically show that if you can make use of your tire properly you can do some pretty crazy thing with a stock car. Nissan basically had the tires ordered (from both Dunlop and Bridgestone) and setup the car optimumly for them....

So it was cast iron I assume? That is much heavier that the performance engines I am familiar with. Are there any other reasons?

As for the ring times, it would be nice if someone went to the ring and spent a few days there in different conditions with a race driver setting laps but I doubt this will happen.

i cant believe how slow the GTR is in 1/4 mile and 0-60.

I know it probably wont matter in europe or japan but i wonder if that will affect its sales in the US where drag racing is king.

I think Nissan has made a small enough number of GT-Rs and the car has enough buzz and fans to sell out easily.

What were the 1/4 mile times they got for each car?
That is times street-racing from red light to red light. Times taken on a Casio wristwatch. Tested at random length, random driver(drunk and sober), random weather. As random as you get it.

yeah, i don't mind too much, anything under 8 min is going to be fast, but if someone else can replicate nissan's time..

MCR R35 GTR versus an RE Amiya FD RX-7. The Skyline has 20hp above stock with a chip, while the RX-7 Is a full built bridgeported 13B twin turbo setup for this sort of run.
