of course, in the GTR you will notice when it is raining, because the windows get wet, in the GT2 you will only notice it after you have just left the road.....

well if you're driving like such a dick that a mere wet road would cause a crash, good riddance..

Pushing that hard in the 'Ring then damp roads will ilicit any driver to be a "dick" as you so call it

As expected the aero of the 911 is attracting positive and NOT the possibility that the GT-R encountered damp/mist/rain that the 911 didin't.

Thank Christ. Im glad we can still trust in porsche. haha.
I hate to say it, but the GT-R is already getting old, its sad, but w/e.

Well done GT-R,amazing car. But now this shows that under the same conditions and same driver, the GT2 is faster. Which, to me at least, is more important than the GT-R being faster under different conditions and a different driver.

You are aware that Sport Auto did a 7.38 lap with the European version of the GTR, 17 seconds faster than the Porsche factory testers could achieve????(and also much faster than the DR testers?)

    But didn't they do a 7.33 with a GT2 as well?

yep, they did. In that sense the DR test looks consistent

and the GT2 should have been faster (and possibly much more than just 5 seconds) with nearly forty BHP more and 300 kgs less.

Yeah, they did a 7:33 with the GT2, which again shows that under the same conditions the GT2 is ~5 seconds faster. I just don't like the fact that Porsche called Nissan cheaters and couldn't come close to other magazines times for the GT-R, just makes them look really bad.

just throwing this out there.... CAR did back to back laps, with the same driver, with a Euro spec GT-R and a GT3.

    GT3: 7:49
    GT-R: 7:51

They also timed a nissan test driver in a factory test car with the track biased suspension option, and optional stickier rubber, and got a 7:27. So the debate never ends.

It's a bit meaningless as well, since in the real world we won't be able nowhere near these levels of performance.

I personally don't care much about track times, more about driving enjoyment, and even if the Porsches were slower that's what I'd take over the amazing Datsun.
