I like the side profile, but aside from that it seems a bit chintzy.
The weight reductino and power are nice, and its nice to see them naming things correctly again.
I hope it grows on me.

I like it, very nice. That Spyder chop looks the goods as well.

Hmmm, not sure about the weight reduction:

    Ferrari F430 Curb weight: 1450 kg / 3197 lb
Ferrari 458 Dry weight 1380 kg / 3042 lbs (with forged wheels & racing seats)

Some websites list the 458 as actually heavier:

The F40 and F50 were different cars, stylistically speaking. Much easier cars on the eyes, in my opinion.
Not the F50 it took me years to like it (meaning: it took me years to see one in the flesh).

The proportions from the side - the very low front, kick up tail lights...are sexy.

the front is tolerable, the wheels are just great, and the rear treatment, while the vents are a funny shape, is again not too shabby.

The first modern Ferrari i've seen since the P4/5 (if you could call that modern) where I haven't recoiled in horror upon viewing it.

And the interior looks to be of a much improved variety.

Correct! I probably quoted the US dry weight of the 430..

In any case, the 458 is still a bit heavier than the 430.
