And was apparently quite disappointing to drive.

Unfortunately I think it's going to be too little, too late over here. They're just not bargains, and they're not exotic enough. If you want performance, the aforementioned C7Z is cheaper. If you want exotic, you can get a used, mid-generation Gallardo for less still, or an early F430. If you want an even better performance bargain, try a used C6 ZR1, which you can now find for half the price of that F-type. All four are going to have more character than a Jaguar in my book.

I think the Jag's pricing is alright. It's perceived to be more exotic than your Corvettes, SLs, 911s, etc. And it is well cheaper than your Astons, AMG-GTs, Hurracans, and R8s. The base V6 is about as attention grabbing as the Type R, and a different choice than the aforementioned models that it will have place.

Jag obviously won't get the numbers of a 911s sales, but they will outpace some of those more expensive cars and make tidy margins on options.

If we're throwing used cars in there though Ras, yeah that changes things.

You could also look at second hand F-Types.

Anyway, I don't know if it is the case in America but here the base F-Type is 32 grand cheaper than the entry level 911 and the S undercuts it by 18 grand.

Hey when I totted up the sales for premium brand in America in the Alpine thread, I included the US and Canada!

I don't quite consider them exotics; they're Jaguars. To me they're a British SL, one step below the AMG-GT Corvettes are not exotics either for that matter.
