I see you've got a lot of interesting cars in Russia.

By the way isn't that Jag XK120 the same as the one in the other thread?

I've never seen tires like that before. The tread is the word "NONSKID" over and over. Is that from the "if you say something enough times, it becomes true" school of thought?

    Keep it coming.

Yes, they've got a website. automuseum.ru. They belong to a mentioned Automotive Club of Cabriolets and Roadsters. The Club was founded January, 13 2001 (not so long ago, what do you think? ). The founder of the Club is a president of Russian Guild of Antique Dealers - Vadim Zadorozhnyi. As I've been told at the event, the most cars are his own - he buys them at the foreign (for us, of course) auctions.
The main objective of the Club was to establish a Museum. You see, the goal is performed . It was founded just in July, 2004. This museum is one of the best automotive museums in Russia. All cars are authentic and on the run. Moreover, some of them constantly enter various rallies.
In 2006 museum had 40 cars for exposition, 23 car and bikes in restoration process and 25 awaiting for restoration.
Except cars, the museum has some number of military units, including planes and helicopters.
Members of a club are partly participate in the museum development. The Club provides services of storing and serving for the classics, searching and purchasing cars and another kinds of services connected with oldtimers.

Oh, by the way, I've been told that at the moment some 1938 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 is being restored, and they say that it's a one-off.

Today French carmakers concentrate on providing us with non-expensive mid-class cars. But before WW2, when France was one of the leading industrial countries, there were many interesting and original projects. Connection of powerful engines, effective chassis and expressive bodies entailed the appearing of cars which hold a strong place in history. Delahaye was among the best French makes, and its 135 model, appeared in 1935, became the best and the most successful of Delahaye models. On of the most prestige carrosseries in France - Henri Chapron Carrossier - performed various bodies on Delahaye 135 chassis in 1935-1952. Chapron cars often get Grand Prix at Concorso d'Eleganzas.

    1949 Delahaye 175.

Delahaye 175 received all that was necessary for relieving previous success of famous make. It was presented to public in October 1946 under the glass dome of Grand Palais. But the 175 never did become a completely finished model. Because of many reasons, such as high cost price, constant leak and high price of high-quality materials and, finally, comparing to 135, which 175 had to replace, the car was obliged to release a stage in 1951. It was a show-stopper on every autoshow, but almost never did hit the roads. Only 51 Delahaye 175's saw the light.

    Production years: 1946-1951.
    Cars Made: 51.
    Bodywork: cabriolet.
    Weight: 2080kg.
    Engine: 6 cyl., 4455cc, 150hp.

    1938 BMW 327.

Famous 328 sportscar, which has already begun winning competitions, has considerably strenghened the BMW's image outside Germany, but the real star - BMW 327 (Coupe and Cabriolet) designed by Peter Shimanovski, appeared in 1938. Roundshaped and, in the same time imposing forms of the 327, beautiful paintjobs and a long bonnet made 327 Coupe one of the most prestige cars those years. First cars became able to buy in 1938. Year after 327 Coupe's engine power was increased to 80hp.

    Production years: 1937-1941.

    Bodywork: coupe.
    Weight: 1100kg.
    Engine: 6 cyl., 1971cc, 55hp.

1932 BMW Wartburg DA3 by Ihle Karosseriebau.

Ihle Karosseriebau specialized on making lightweight sports roadster based on various BMW Dixi modifications. The car had engine and suspension from DA4 generation and a bit longer chassis, on which an aerodynamic two-seater body with BMW's 'nostrils' on the grilles was placed. Presented car was found at one of the Belorussian villages in horrible condition - the body acted as a trough for pigs, and the body was used by fishermen as an anchor. Full restoration by the Club specialists took about a year.

    Production years: 1931-1932.
    Cars made: 475.
    Bodywork: two-seater roadster.
    Weight: 485kg.
    Engine: 4 cyl., 748cc, 15hp.
    Max. speed: 75km/h.
    Average fuel charge: 6l/100km.

    1939 BMW 326 by Wendler.

In 1936 at the international Berlin motor show the BMW 326 was launched. In this the most successful pre-war German car comfort and an imposing appearance were underlined more than power and sport character. Thanks to 326, the company has taken leading positions and held it until the WW2. This model led to the first commercial success of Bayeriche Motoren Werke.
The museum car was made by Wendler body company. There is no info about the customer of the car, and it's impossible to figure out the exact amount of BMW 326 Wendler Coupe's produced. According to one sources three such cars were made, another - just one car. The car was found in an abandoned shed and later restored by the Club specialists.

    Production years: 1936-1941.
    Cars made: 1 or 3.
    Bodywork: business coupe.
    Weight: 1320kg.
    Engine: 6 cyl., 1971cc, 50hp.
    Max. speed: 115km/h.
    Average fuel charge: 12l/100km.
