    I miss the uselessness of such vehicles like this. Maybe they are more useful to Austrailians but the El Camino, Rampage, etc were pretty dumb, but look cool.

    they're not useless, as in you can fit a bbq, dirt bikes etc in the back without having to drive a pick up, which makes it all worthwhile

    Seconded, Crisis. A holden ute isn't actually a one-tonner (unless it specifically is that model) which to me is kinda pointless.

    When new, the 'dumb useless' base model 6cyl Holden ute (pictured at left in B/W directly above your post #3) had a larger tray which carried more weight than base F150, eg. IIRC their tow ratings were about equal. Economy, performance & dynamics were way better in the utes (still are)
