Why? Whats the point of making the name longer while stating the obvious? McLaren F1 GT is fine.

BMW S70/3 GTR 6064cc V12 restricted to 600bhp with 527lb ft, 1050kg, straight cut gears, carbon brakes etc, etc

GTR 1996 - Raced at Le Mans and BPR Global Endurance GT series
BMW S70/3 GTR 6064cc V12 restricted to 600bhp with 527lb ft, 1012kg, detail changes to various bits from the 1995 car

GTR 1997 "Longtail" - Raced at Le Mans and the FIA GT Championship
BMW S70/3 GTR 5990cc V12 (shorter stroke) restricted to 600bhp with 506lb ft, 915kg, longer overhangs front and rear, sequential gearbox, more detail changes

LM - 5 road-going cars to celebrate the 5 cars entered in Le Mans in 1995. Three were orange, two black with "graphics".
BMW S70/2 GTR LM 6064cc V12, 680bhp with 703NM, 1062kg, gearbox from the '95 GTR, GTR bodywork, steel brakes, etc

GT - 2 customer cars and the prototype "...luxuriously appointed 'strech-limo' version..."
    BMW S70/2 6064cc V12 (the engine from the regular F1), 627bhp with 651NM, 1120kg, standard F1 gearbox, standard F1 brakes, basically a normal F1 with new bodywork.
    Thanks for all the fish

I have pics of this car. However, do to "no low-res", I won't post them.

Seen this car before in Japan.

Heh, I knew the pictures on this thread looked familiar. It's from a Japanese magazine called Rosso (as can be seen on the license plates), and I happen to have the particular issue with me because I bought it when I went to visit some relatives in Japan this summer... They had a 32-page special on the F1. If anyone wants to see the other pictures I can get them on here, but since I don't have a scanner, I would have to take photos of the pages with my digital camera. Bearing that in mind, if anyone would still like to see them just let me know here.

Early in 1997, in parallel with the longtail GTRs to ensure that they were in a position to sell the car for homologation before the start of the season.

The FIA, in their infinite wisedom, decided to postpone the homologation deadline untill the end of the year to allow Mercedes and Panoz to enter their cars into that year's championship.
    Thanks for all the fish

The 2nd shot is new to me.

@:Exige:, I can't....my computer had a hiccup when I was browsing my McLaren gallery, and after it came back up, nearly every picture was gone.

I've gotten a few back, and I'll try as much as possible to get the remaining rest.

The longtail version doesn't look so good in street form IMO.

Been a long time fan of the longtailGTR or the GT, they seem more aerodynamic to me, thus (opinion) faster, period.
