The evolution shows perfectly how they killed it. Like the Thunderbird, just got bigger, fatter, slower. At the end it was lame, just like a FWD coupe that was quite slow.

Nah, just the beginning...the end sucks. I hate that 'edge design' that Ford are messing around with at the moment and the latest car (sold as a Ford Cougar here in the UK) wasn't a patch on almost anything in it's class.

1. Never insult the big Cougars in my presence. You got lucky that I was out of town until this afternoon.

2. It's a shame there's only one picture of all the Cougars from '71-'79 (well, 2 if you count Henk4's). Where are the '74-'76's? They're my personal favorites. And what about the 1977 Mercury Cougar Villager station wagon? And the the '77-'79 Mercury Cougar sedans? And the '82 Cougar wagon? This calls for some investigative Googling...

3. Thanks smxi!

we rarely get these type of Cougars in Europe. Some are leftovers from US Army/Airforce staff stationed in Europe.

An '82 Cougar wagon? Putting the Cougar badge on a wood-grained Ford Fairmont seems insulting enough.

1. A beautiful 1971 Cougar
2. 1977 Mercury Cougar
3. An ad for a '74-'76 Mercury Cougar (the website mis-identified it as a '78, but they can't fool me.)
4. Another '74-'76

These were all I could find in high-res, unfortunately.

You're awesome smxi!

I found these two on the web. I don't suppose you or anyone else could find them in hi-res? The first one's the Cougar line-up for '77 (coupe, sedan, and wagon). The second one is also a '77.
