    1987 Saab 900S, info anyone??

my dad is fixin to possibly buy one, does anyone have any experience/knowledge with Saabs from the 80s and specifically 87? and the 900S?
also, it is naturally aspirated, no turbo.

The only experience I've had with SAABs is doing a little bit of mechanical work and some bodywork on a '69 96 2D. Interesting car...it has a Ford V4 in it, from the time when Saab was still trying to develop their own in-house four-stroke engine. Keep in mind they were largely building engines for planes up to this point. Looked fairly similar to the one in the attachement.

Anyway, back on topic, sorry, but I can't help you . Just thought I'd take this opportunity to share my Saab experience

I have a 1987 Saab 900 Turbo, we in the saab world call them C900's (Classic 900's) The 87's run on either a 16V Turbo, an 8V N/A or a 16V N/A. If it's a turbo, the car has a lot of potential, and your dad should definitely go for it. I'm running 200 hp now, but with a few reliability mods, I'll get up to running 250+. The car is very light and can do amazing things. There's a guy out there pushing 525 to the wheels that runs 11's in the quarter mile. Car's handle great and have macphereson struts stock.

The 95 900s is a New 900 and uses GM hubs, the 93 is a Classic 900 and has a very strange Saab size.
