I have noticed on the roofs of a lot of Mercedes lately that they are black, it is on some of them, but not all. Would anyone be able to tell me what it is for? Thanks.

Most of the black part contains Solar panels which are used to power some of the cars functions while parked. for example keeping the air-con on so the car is at the correct temperature inside when it's owner returns.

Or there are tinted windows for the sunroof and roof

The new AMG SLK 55 Black Series has a carbonfibre hard top instead of the metal folding roof.
Aside from that I haven't heard that any other cars in the range have CF.

The M6 has a CF roof.
