Even though I choose the Miura there are so many other good looking cars that I would consider on a list.
One of my absolute favourites is the Lancia Aurelia B20 GT, or why not the Alfa Giulia/Giulietta Sprint. A lot of the Zagato bodied cars are absolutely wonderful, for example the Aston Martin DB4 GTZ or the Fiat 8V Zagato and so on.

What a strange and eclectic list! Where are the Figoni and Falashi bodied cars like the Delahaye, the Bugatti Atalante and so on? The E type; iconic but surely not, if you really look, the most beautiful - much too narrow a track if you study it properly (I've had mine 28 years so feel qualified to comment). The 250 GTO; which version? The "bread van" or the original 1962 car? Purposeful all, but not beautiful surely. I'd probably include a Gullwing Mercedes on my list of production cars, but to me the Atalanta is my favorite.

Is that the Atalanta, like in the very limited number of pre-war British sportscars?

OK, although I would not be embarrassed if somebody choose the Atalanta, which won the the beauty contest at the Goodwood FoS in 2007....

is this the one youre talking about? the delahaye rip-off?

1939 Bugatti Type 57 C Vanvooren Cabriolet - Images, Specifications and Information

seen it in person, and it was absolutely stunning. i havent seen the delahaye 165 in person, but i generally prefer delehayes to bugattis. the 165 has been my single favorite car for the better part of 15 years.

is that the 135 MS? You have to be specific with the F&F Delehayes, there's a bunch of them.

F&F did far more Delahayes, in a more normal shape than the well known exuberant ones, on 135/135M/135MS chassis, you name it, they did it.

as the most beautiful car also some of the Talbot Teardrops may qualify (See the most recent update)

I think it's a little unfair to compare pre-war car to post-war cars. The former are like sculptures, the latter are just transportation objects compared.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.

the operative word in the thread title is "EVER"....so your argument has no value IMHO.

It was meant as a compliment to pre-war cars, but nevermind.
