But the thing that is puzzling me, and I think it's been touched on, is how is the engine breathing for a mid mounted supercar?

The previous models (F430\360) had the engine intakes on top of the rear fenders, and brake cooling ducts forward of the rear wheels.

This, however, doesn't have either that I can see, so (1) How does the engine breathe? and (2) How are the rear brakes cooled?

Look closer at the rear side windows.. there are the engine intakes. As fo the rear brakes.. maybe with such open wheels they'll be fine? Or they're carbon ceramic so it's less of a problem.. Something like that anyway.

The 458 looks silly compared to the 360.

As you know though, the 360 is one of the cars close to perfection - visually at least.

    The 355 is better than the 360, giving the choice, I'd take a 355 over a 360

Well, subtle it certainly isn't. That being said I do like it. From a design stand point I love those two little bumperettes in the front grills. Also, those performance figures are absolutely shocking.

Agreed. 355 is still my favorite V8 Ferrari of all time.

Very different design. Some people will love it others may not.

I'm amazed how Ferrari got 425kw from a 4.5L V8 - incredible. When the equivalent track version comes out, it will probably produce 435+kw.

It's better looking than I expected. Praise over.

It is THE car I think of when the words "beautiful" and "car" are together in the same sentence.

Lot of people think the 355 was the greatest. I used to think it was just the older generations until some younger people started saying the same. I actually think the 355 didn't look as good as the 360, but I like the 430 better since it seems less effiminate. This new car I'm waiting on final judgement until I see actual sheetmetal.

i like the side profile, though there is that funny downward crease though. and no air intakes on the side any more?
overall..doesn't do anything for me, not pretty enough for a ferrri.

also the perfromance is mental. this is supposed to be an entry level ferrari, yeah? jesus.
the 360 was more than enough car for some people. what's this gonna be like??

The 360 looks a bit...girly, not very mean, not very elegant.
I think the 355 has both characteristics, it looks more agile, small and fast.
And I love the 355's rear spoiler.

That said, I also like the 308 GT4.

I'd have a 355 over a 360.. pop-up headlights. I think I'll prefer this new 458 over the 360 and 430 even.. more presence, more sense of occasion. I'll have to see it moving to be sure though..

360 the more I look the less I like it, the initial variant at least. It strikes me with the same difference between C5 and C6 Corvette. The newer one being more lean looking. The later variant of the 360s are better, especially the CS. I also think F355 was better than 360. More of a old-school Ferrari look.

What 360 is though its Ferrari's new aero driven design direction, and I think thats a good thing...

458 is up-to-date looking, and more coherent I think than some features of the 430(the back for example, never much of the fan of the tall-ness of the back end of the 430, 360 is better in this regard).
