They show Porsche GT3s and 430 Scuderias on tracks and most of them will never see one.

And by the way, I happen to really like the way this car looks.

You could get the same result on a nice twisty mountain road, though.

Ours. No blouse-raging women in sight.

Absolutely not - it's just popular.

    It IS a genuine off-roader
It IS a genuine luxury vehicle

I bet they sell a LOT in China / Russia as people can afford them.

    he is right though.
This car used to sell more before the army of X5s and MLs invaded our roads, but I would definitely take this rather than those.
    or the Range Rover.
Possibily the LR4/Discovery suffered also of the introduction of the Range Rover Sport.

Tracks don't have speed limits, cop or MPVs full of screaming kids coming from the other direction.

If you know the right roads you don't have to (mostly) worry about that either.

Well, this "fanboy" would only buy one if:

    - He needed an off-roader / something practical for 7 people
    - He had the money to purchase and run one
    - He had the money to keep it in as close to showroom condition as possible, even if it had been used for serious off-roading.

And even then...only "maybe". - Depending on my requirements for an off-roader / 7-seat vehicle.

I do like the car (or whatever abbreviation everyone's using this week!), but I don't believe my appreciation for it is disproportionate to its' talents.
