Thanks for that review of the Fiat coupe Revo - enjoyed it.
I almost bought one once but for some reason I didn't.
I always had a high regard for Fiat's - but alas its less so for the modern ones like the Stilo etc.
I had two Fiat 128 3p coupes back in the 80's. I had these little exotics from 1980 to 1988. Eight years of memorable motoring. I know the rust was a problem with them but that was forgiven for their go cart like handling and very pleasing exhaust sound.
They were affordable excitement for a Ferrari wannabe like me.
My first 3p (a white one) was nice until I smashed it into a wall I spent a fortune getting it fixed but after the crash rust set in in earnest and after about a year the weak spot (front suspension mount) broke. I got it welded and it lasted a while but after it crossed to the wrong side of the road I decided to sell it.
Traded it for another 3p got a reasonable price for it. My new 3p (as pictured below) was a 1979 3p SS yellow with all the ss stuff - stripes spoiler alloys etc and only 23,000 miles on the clock and in absolute mint condition.
This was in 1984 - I can still hear the sound of that crisp exhaust note the first time I started it and it even had the "new car" smell. I drove that car down home from Dublin, Ireland and I must say it is still one of my most memorable drives ever. I wasn't driving fast or anything just relishing the feel, sound and smell of the car.
Had it for four years and even though it was driven with exuberance (these cars can’t be driven any other way) it was always reliable and fun but like yours the clutch went wallop one day on me leaving me late for an important court case ( I am a policeman in Ireland).
A fuzzy pic of my second 3p (1984 - 1988)
