I just came home from one of the local pub's trivia night, where it was all Beez Neez (great on tap, not so great in bottles) with a pint of Guiness to finish the night off. I also like red lagers (Rooftop is great) and anything with James Squires/Coopers and Ale written on it. If it's cocktail time, it's things with vodka in it. I'm picky, but there's usually something to satisfy me.

For wine, any red that I can't see through. Big shiraz for the proverbial.

Just to offer a quick correction on the poll, only Irish and American whiskey is spelled with an "e". All others are technically whisky. [/pedant]

I don't drink. When I did drink, Havana Club Anejo Especial was my favourite, although quite hard to find. Sagatiba likewise.

I'll drink pretty much anything that comes in pint form ie; beer, lager, ale, stout. I'm very lucky as just a mile up the road at the top of our town sits St. Austell Brewery and they do make some superb ales. My all time favourite is Tribute, it's a pub favourite down here in this region and rightly so. St Austell Brewery - Home The fact that my both my dad and my brother work for them always means I have a constant flow of the stuff Also like a couple of shots of Jagermeister to get me started when i'm on a bender.

I drink and know far too much about alcohol for my age, which is both pathetic and awesome at least for me. When it comes to destroying my liver on a regular basis, that'd have to be left to beer. Pale American lagers to be exact. From there is where things start to go diverse.

My drinking choices are all dependant on the location and environment. When it's 5-10 of my friends just hanging out, we'll pick up 30 cases of beer and drink that. If it's a bigger party of 30+, I'll probably pick up a flask.. roughly 250mL of Whisky or Cognac before I get to the party which will most likely feature kegs of beer. If I'm at a family occasion where everyone's eating dinner and follow the meal with drinks, I'll take the step up the social ladder into hard alcohol: whisky + 2 ice cubes + tiny splash of water for aroma. When my friends and I are feeling wreckless, we'll pick up a handle of cheap Vodka or Rum, but that usually ends pretty tragically. Tequila is just as bad, one of my worst times involving a fifth of Patron and 8 beers that I managed to finish one night, and not throw up. Needless to say, the hangover lasted somewhere between 24-36 hours. When it comes to going to bars, I'll mix it up a bit, but only with clear spirits. It'll probably range from stuff like Gin and Tonics, Ketel One + Club, Tom Collins, etc. A vodka martini is only if it's a special occasion like a dinner at a fancy restaurant. Not a wine drinker.. it's too boring and the hangover is horrible.

    I'll drink anything available.

can you change the poll so that

-instead of "pilsner style" put in "pilsner style lager"
    -the spelling of whiskEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE [/pendant]
-for pale lager, include dutch beer in the list of examples please, as most of them are pale
-for whiskey: other, include flaoured/spiced whiskeys in there as well please
-instead of dark beer it should be darkER beer
    -include moonshine in other spirits

thanks in advance [/slaving for mods' favours]

yeah so i looked up some statistics and... apparantly this poll isn't making sense

well one part does, vodka is the most widely consumed liquor (check)

    but...

-the most heaviliy produced whisk(e)ys are from scotland (ex)
-the most heavily produced beers are pale lagers (ex)
-tequila and rum are only made near the carribean yet there are more drinkers of it than gin which can be made anywhere warm, and there are a billion in china where baijiu is the most heavily consumed...

you guys are all weird, i know i am

Rum is made from sugarcane, so anywhere that produces that can make rum if they wish. There's even rum made in Bulgaria according to this list!

I don't drink often but when I do, I drink:
Mostly bud light/ coors light for beer. As for vodka, grey goose on the rocks w/ lemon is pretty good. A nice summer time drink, mix half and half with french vanilla Kahlua on ice. It tastes like iced coffee and goes down like it.
