    On premuim European fuel
    CC8S: 655bhp
    CCR: 806bhp
    CCX: 860bhp (900 available on E100)

CCX has 50mm more head room, spots in the bumper for the ugly American reflector rules, and optional carbon rims and brake (saving 5kgs/corner)

And it's official... With the optional wing the car blazed the track record at the Top Gear studios. Nice nice...

Interesting how much time and effort Koenigsegg seemingly put in to the design of this car and a TV SHOW gives them advice on how to make it actually perform.

One up for the BBC there

Not sure if I'd be too happy if I had shelled out for a car to find something THAT fundamental about it's design

... and I agree MrK, it looks very nice

The wing was already on the Koenigsegg options list long before the CCX came to the Top Gear test track.

ah thanks, see that on their web site.
So it's kind of needed or it spits you off at high speed, BUT they make it optional.
Now call me Mr Cynic, but I suspect that's so they can claim a higher top speed by running the "unsafe" car in a straigh line
    Thanks for the info.

Get it with the wing, and then tell people it'll do the unsafe car's speeds. They won't know the difference.
And you'll blitz almost any road car on the track

I think you're very right, huge figures always sell to ignorant millionares. Anyway the top speed with the wing won't exactly slow I think. Even if it loses 20mph or so it'll still be very seriously fast. And much safer indeed.

Would be interesting to see when K ever produce real world figures.

Aero dynamic drag increase at the square of the speed.
So it could knock LOTS off the top end in reality

Best to grab the Top Gear episode
It IS nice. Fits into the design well, when they first said it was needed I had nightmare that it would be some ricer le-mans add-on. It's nicely integrated into the top "tunnel" -- very Matra-ish

Actually even if it "only" did 200mph it would be more than enough in my opinion. I mean it's not like you're going to try the top speed of you brand new supercar in the M1 or something. In fact I think those a car are a bit pointless. The original Koenigsegg CC8S was already more than powerful and fast enough. Cars with a lot less power can be a lot more enjoyable. However the world would be a poorer place withput supercars...

Part of the point I was highlighting, is that K have BS'ed about the speeds and performance of their car since it's inception.
They sold on the cachet of being the fastest without proving it
Now that they're delivering it seems they can't get out of the habit of conning the buyers and fans
Hell yes, I'd rather see another Koenigsegg even with it's faults on the market than another small car convertible variant !!!
