    The 2008 Summernats - photos

Held every year for twenty one years - every summer this event always provides a great start to the year 2008 for the Australian UCP Community - who regularly gather from across the eastern coast at car events such as the international motor shows at Sydney and Melbourne, The Easter weekend Races at mount panorama (bathurst), Phillip Island Classics and many more smaller events around the year. A great attendance was had for the largest bogan/burnout festival this side of the sun. The attending UCP members were (in no order of awesome) Clutch, IB4R, Bluie, Cyco and myself.

The event itself features heavily on V8 muscle where 440C is considered the "normal" engine capacity. (its possible to hear the oil tycoons screaming with delight at the amount of fuel burnt during the three day event). However this year there were far more imports than previous, which was a good showing for the minority of us that enjoy imports.

    Enjoy the photos!

Still annoyed that I missed it. But at least I saw a fair few of the higher end cars, they were coming into work as Summernats and a bunch of magazines use our studio for shoots.

Holden vs concrete - a burnout gone wrong on the cruise strip shunted the concrete block about 4m. Noone injured, just a bruised car and a very bruised ego...

I couldn't make it either. But my friend did enter in his lime green Charger, it got some weird reactions

His interest centered on the Dyno Shootout where he observed a Holden HZ wuntun with full ACT street rego pump out 1700 rwhp
