What processor you got in that ?
That family certainly is fast enough so supgrading the video card would be a worthwhile. More memory is never a bad thing
more than enough disk ( unless you d/l LOTS of porn )
More details on what you've got and what you want to do with it will help guide us to yoru choices, but certainly your; in the low $100s to upgrade to fast enough ballpark .

If you want to upgrade the vid card, you can't, Dells (except the XPS series) use the old PCI-1 interface. Since your budget is $1000, get a computer from http://www.ibuypower.com/ (that's where I am getting mine )

erm, the E510 he cited has PCI Express 16X for graphics ( but only one so can't go massively SLI )

Best NOT to advise without knowledge

Yeah I confused the E510 with the regular ones, like the B110 series

Electromigration is increased by over-clocking. Localised heating can cause problems that a cooler can't guarantee to prevent damage. The "fingers" that electromigration causes reduce the life of the component.

( We worked at 10-100GHz (yep GigaHz) clock rates and we saw electromigration even on standard chips from a wafer if the dopign wasnt' perfect ). So it's still caveat emptor.

As I said "damage" that reducess life of a chip isn't generally noticable to an o/cer as they invariably have moved on after a couple of years
I was talking about the damage.......I don't mind shortening my CPU life for a month or so.

Anyway, can anyone find me articles on how to overclock a Leadtek PX6800GT? I found a lot of articles about overclocking other brands' cards but not Leadtek.

We have a Pentium 4 with HT 2.80 GHz. It has a RADEON X600 256MB HyperMemory video card.

What are the things you do with your computer? And what are your planned uses whene you get the upgrades? (if you upgrade your computer)

It's the family computer, so it has a wide range of uses. I am thinking about buying GT Legends, but I don't know if the video card is good enough or not. So basically more gaming and possibly photoshop.

Get an nVidia GeForce 7600GT and a new case with some fans, and a 500watt powersupply and you should be set

Guys, this is like reading a Honda forum with guys telling to add fart cans and stikkaz for more power !!!!
Your supply is fine for what you have and also the cooling.

no need for ANY upgrades to play GT legends.
How much memory has it got ?

I'm an nVidia preference person so I thinnk you wil enjoy the experience more with an upgrade ... but it's NOT vital.

    I'm playing GTR with Athlon XP 1800+ 1533MHz, 512-768MB ram and a Radeon 9600 256MB.

So a 2.8GHz P4 and Radeon X600 should run GTL fine.
