Spotted in Melbourne Australia, can't identify exactly what it is

I think the logo is Chevrolet. Notice it has rear fender skirts (or scats, as they're called down under) and a second door hinge up high. I tried everything, from looking through ebay to find identifiable parts (taillights, rear bumper). It seems to be from 1930-1940 but I can't figure out exactly what it is. Any help?

The car looks more like a Lagonda. Or at least British.

If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

haha if you'd gone to the windscreen and read the rego sticker it would have told you the year, make and model

probably an RME model Riley. think the diamond shape badge was colour coded but can't remember what ...
iirc vicroads stickers don't give the model like queensland does and by the way its 'spats', not scats.

Have to agree it's an Riley RME, with the spats and lack of running boards it would make it a 1954 model (the last year the RME was made i believe).

Unfortunately it was spotted by a friend. I already asked if she could go back and take a closer look, no dice.

But 1954 Riley RME certainly seems like it! Thanks a ton!
