Random pics from last week's Rally to Restore Sanity in DC. Too bad the rest of the freakin' country decided to go batshit on 11/3.

Well with my Ford Contour/Mondeo, I thought it best to record my suspension lowering effort.

way too much positive camber. Get that sorted before you do any wheel upgrades. Nice crash, what'd you do wrong/hit?

I was heading home after 16 hours at work. i did one of those head nod, momentary "long-blinks" and found myself heading off the left shoulder.
I over corrected to the right at about 75 MPH, and executed 2 1/2 barrel rolls. I then slid upside down on the roof, to hit the hillside on the right. That left me hanging upside down from my seat belt. Embarrassing to say the least.

There was some radical alteration of the roof and body lines as well.
I can also report, the air bags, do actually work.

When the airbag went off it blew my right hand off the steering wheel, up through the shattered sun-roof. Unfortunately, as the car was on its roof sliding along the road, that hand got chewed up pretty good. All healed up pretty good after a few weeks.
The other thing was a seat belt burn across my left shoulder, and left side of my chest.
Otherwise, it was one of those slow motion, "oh! crap!" moments that I got away with.

I was there with 215000 of my closest friends. I don't have my pictures uploaded onto my computer yet, but I might share them once I do.

Wasn't it great, Tim? I've never been in a more diverse crowd of smiling people... for at least that afternoon we were free from the daily bombast that rules political discourse anymore. Of course, we should have known what was comming in just a week, courtesy of the sheeple.

A few more pics, including one from the Washington Monument at 10AM. By 1PM the mall was filled to 7th street, as shown by the GeoEye photos. 215,000 was the official count but including the side streets, who knows?

It was great; like a giant (tea-free) party. I have never seen the Mall (or the Metro) that crowded; I was sardined in at about 7th Street. I just wish I could've seen the jumbotron better.
