We can all "thank" the NCAP pedestrian safety tests for the new shapes.
The long noses, curved shapes, set back lights etc all are there to manage the pedestrian hit by the car to limit their injuries.
We just have to get used to it

Japan has been dealing with the issue of car/pedestrian impact for a long time but they don't seem to have gravitated to the curved body on a large scale.
